Saluda River August 2011

Helpdesk, Gusto, Sleepy and Rolling Peach took on the Saluda in Columbia SC on this breezy and somewhat overcast day.  We started at the Riverbanks Zoo put in and paddled about 5.5 miles in fairly low water conditions.  Attached is our route, a few pictures and a video.  Enjoy..

Another very nice outing! The weather conditions made for a pleasant day on the water (considering it was late August in Columbia!). The Saluda/Congaree offers a great way to see a different side of Columbia most people will never experience. As the Rolling Peach taught me many years ago (in Columbia at USC ironically enough), it's always good to get a new perspective on things.

The post-paddle experience at Maurice's Piggy Park made the wait for a late lunch worth it! The buffet, especially the fried squash, was a treat.
